Course Overview

The 10-hour Construction Safety Certification course is intended to provide entry-level construction workers with general knowledge for recognizing and preventing hazards on a construction site.  Newly updated with OSHA’s latest requirements, this 10 hour course is the minimum OSHA standard for all workers.  The course is designed for construction workers new to the industry and as a refresher for workers on hazards in the construction workplace. The course covers the following OSHA required topics:  An introduction to OSHA and OSHA regulations; general safety and health provisions; cranes and rigging; scaffolds; stairways and ladders; health hazards, hazardous materials; hazard communications; electrical safety; power and hand tools; personal protective equipment; struck-by and caught in between procedures; and fall prevention and protection.

The OSHA 10-Hour Construction course is intended for workers and employees who need an OSHA 10-Hour Card.

Learning Objectives

School of Construction Safety will teach you about recognition, avoidance, abatement and prevention of safety and health hazards in the workplace. This course focuses on federal OSHA construction industry standards, pointing out any differences with State standards, and is a proven way to get your OSHA 10 Card and achieve the safety level required by your company for work in the construction industry. You are encouraged to learn company policies on these subjects, which might be different and more stringent.

Following this OSHA 10 training course, students should be able to:

  10. Identify major hand & power tool hazards
